Romans 5:1-5
Focusing in on the first two verses, the phrase 'justified through faith'. The idea here is that we have been declared guiltless, washed clean of sin, due to our faith in our relationship with Christ. Nothing groundbreaking for those who are on to the more 'meat' of the relationship but still good to be reminded of when you are feeling attacked, feeling unworthy of salvation.

An email I received last week served as a reminder of how unworthy of God's mercy and salvation we are. We had been discussing the VT tragedy months ago and one person wrote, "We should be grateful that God is merciful, because tragedies such as this are what we deserve to happen to us everyday for once turning our backs on God." Verses 6-11 really remind me of how unworthy I am of Christ.
Galatians 1:5 says that we've received "undeserved mercy" so true what you both have said.
